Happy new year! PokerStars have announced a revamped
structure their already market leading VIP Club reward structure. 2012 saw
Stars cement their status at the top of the poker tree further through the way
it handled and maximised the opportunities opened by Black Friday (April 2011).
When the US department of justice forced the hand of the major online poker
sites by seizing their .net web domains and US based bank accounts, PokerStars
prioritised immediate and prompt repayment of US Player funds. Full Tilt Poker
however, collapsed due to the massive deficit that was exposed in their
accounts.
The mass of players globally who had their bankrolls
frozen for the best part of 18 months through Full Tilt’s subsequent collapse
have since been paid back fully by PokerStars. PokerStars not only purchased
Full Tilt Poker’s assets but also re-instated and paid back all outstanding
player balances. This has to be one of the best played business hands that the
online poker industry has ever seen. The
way that PokerStars handled its own bank of ostracised US Players and honoured
the frozen bankrolls of the global bank of Full Tilt players has demonstrated a
refreshing level of much needed integrity to the damaged online poker industry.
The changes below to their VIP Club structure,
reaffirms their commitment to offering the best experience and value to the
poker player, and is another great reason why you should chose to play at
PokerStars:
